Ford Expedition Among KBB’s Best Family Cars Of 2025

The Ford Expedition has earned its fair share of critical acclaim in recent years, mostly for providing folks needing a large SUV with plenty of space for the entire family, along with copious amounts of cargo room and even some solid towing capacity figures. That figures to continue with the redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition, which debuted recently bearing a host of updates inside and out. Now, the 2025 Ford Expedition has earned its first award after making the cut on Kelley Blue Book’s list of the Best Family Cars of 2025.

The Ford Expedition is no stranger to KBB’s Best Family Cars list, having made the cut in both 2023 and 2024 previously, and now, it’s back for the third consecutive year. The Expedition was once again among the top choices for those seeking a three-row SUV, joining the Chevy Tahoe, Honda Odyssey, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Telluride, Toyota Highlander, and Toyota Sienna in that space.

Kelley Blue Book’s Best Family Cars of 2025 list features 12 total vehicles that cater to the diverse needs of families, and consists purely of mainstream brands, due to the fact that KBB’s research indicates that’s where more than four in five car buyers opt to shop. Each of these dozen models has been evaluated by KBB in regard to safety, functionality, roominess, historical reliability, and predicted resale value, which are things that family car shoppers tend to focus on.

“Kelley Blue Book’s Best Family Cars list offers a wide range of sizes and price points, because we know there is an even broader array of families,” said Brian Moody, executive editor for Kelley Blue Book. “For many years, our Best Family Cars list has featured only SUVs and minivans. Now that’s not to say a family of four or five can’t fit into a sedan, but the market has spoken: The go-to family cars of today actually aren’t cars at all.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
