Ford F-150 Beats All Major Rivals In New Comparison Test: Video

Hot off a refresh for the 2024 model year, the Ford F-150 remains the undisputed king of its class. The pickup continues to beat its closest rivals like the Ram 1500 and the Toyota Tundra, while the F-150 Tremor outclassed the Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and Ram 1500 Rebel in a test of off-road machines. The F-150 keeps racking up the accolades, recognized yet again for being the best full-size pickup on the market today.

That honor comes from Edmunds, which stacked the Ford F-150 against the Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Toyota Tundra, and Ram 1500. While it says that “all of these trucks are good,” the Ford F-150 stood head and shoulders above the rest.

The Chevy Silverado slotted in fifth among the five rivals. While Edmunds commended it for its handy tech, like built in Google apps and Super Cruise, its interior leaves something to be desired, as it’s the least comfortable of its competitors. Its sibling, the GMC Sierra, excelled in the interior department, but was dinged for its inferior drive quality – although it does offer a diverse powertrain lineup for just about every application.

The Toyota Tundra was ranked third. It’s a well-rounded pickup that’s hindered by its poor fuel economy. The Ram 1500, meanwhile, is arguably the best-riding of the bunch, but its interior touch screen takes the place of too many physical controls, which can be a hindrance.

Comparatively, the publication highly recommends the Ford F-150 because of its tech, which includes a surround-view camera and navigation system that does not need a camera. BlueCruise is also available, but what really sets the F-150 apart is its best-in-class towing and payload capacity. However, Edmunds says The Blue Oval’s entry leaves something to be desired in terms of styling, calling it the least attractive of the bunch. However, that doesn’t matter much when you have the sort of off-road capability offered by the likes of the F-150 Raptor and F-150 Raptor R, and the F-150 Tremor is a serious off-road threat too.

“It’s clear that Ford makes the best truck for both work and play,” states Edmunds.
