Generally, collector car auction sites tend to focus on precisely that – collectible automobiles, or those built in larger quantities that are in nicer condition with lower miles, making them somewhat compelling for different types of people. However, from time to time, we also come across some pretty cool Ford related memorabilia listed for sale via online collector car auctions, too. Now, that has happened yet again, this time, via a very cool Ford gumball machine that would look right at home in any Blue Oval fan’s office or garage.
This unique Ford gumball machine is slated to cross the block at Mecum’s upcoming Indianapolis, Indiana auction in May, and it’s certainly not something that we see very often. Measuring in at 7x18x7 inches, this piece was originally manufactured by a company called Northwestern out of Morris, Illinois. It comes with a key so that one can restock it, and it’s also coin-operated, so perhaps the new owner can make a little extra cash to help pay for their purchase.
On the glass upper portion of this gumball machine, one will find a traditional Blue Oval logo spanning the width of that part, and in the rear, there’s a vintage Ford Motor Company logo that looks pretty cool, too. The back portion of the glass bears the Northwestern logo, and the body of the machine is covered in a Ford-like blue color as well. Looking down the sides, we see a Genuine Ford Parts sticker on the glass, along with vintage Ford Motor Company script on the body.
This is just one of many pieces of Ford memorabilia that we’ve stumbled across at auction in recent months, a list that includes a 1965 vintage dealership sign, a service station garbage can, a neon Ford service sign originally produced by Mulholland Sign Co. in Kalamazoo, Michigan, as well as an illuminated Blue Oval sign with an unknown history.
