Ford Performance Announces NASCAR Xfinity Mustang-Only Tournament

Ford Performance and motorsport go hand-in-hand, and now, The Blue Oval is raising the stakes for select NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers with its new “Drive 4 A Difference Challenge.” The four-race tournament invites drivers of the Ford Mustang Dark Horse race cars to a round of friendly competition as they race against one another for a sizable check that will be donated to a charity of their choice.

The Drive 4 A Difference Challenge is presented by Ford Performance and the Gene Haas Foundation, pitting five Xfinity Series Mustang racers against one another across four races. The Mustangs will compete for a $50,000 purse, which will be split across five charities hand-selected by each driver.

The challenge kicks off at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 24th, 2025, before heading to Nashville Superspeedway (May 31st), Mexico City (June 14th, and finishing up at Pocono Raceway (June 21st). The tournament will use the Xfinity Series’ regular points system to determine a winner, including stage points. However, should one of the Ford Performance drivers win a race, their points for that event will be doubled. Whoever has the most total points at the end of the challenge will be declared winner.

Ford Mustang drivers Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Harrison Burton, Ryan Sieg, and Kyle Sieg will compete in the tournament. Creed represents Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, Mayer has picked the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Burton has chosen All Within My Hands, Ryan Sieg will support the Isabella Santos Foundation, and Kyle Sieg has chosen the Motor Racing Outreach.

The charity picked by the driver with the most points will receive $20,000. Second place gets $15,000, while the three outstanding charities will each receive $5,000.

Ford Performance, for its part, is doing its best to promote the Ford Mustang in motorsports, aiming to bring its single-make Mustang Challenge to global markets to drum up interest in the purpose-built Dark Horse R. Gene Haas himself has a deep connection with Ford, too, although he elected to shut the doors of his Cup Series team last year.
