Over the past few years, the Ford Transit lineup has secured its fair share of Best Fleet Value in America Awards from Vincentric. In 2023, it topped the full-size one-ton van, full-size half-ton cargo van, and full-size 3/4 ton cargo van segments, and last year, the Transit secured wins in the full-size one-ton passenger van, full-size 1/2-ton cargo van, and full-size 3/4-ton cargo van segments. That success continued to the 2025 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America Awards as well, albeit, on a smaller scale.
This time around, the Ford Transit topped just one segment in the Best Fleet Value in America Awards – the full-size one-ton passenger van space, which belongs to the Ford T-350 XLT Low Roof RWD 148 model, specifically. That van outperformed eight competitor trims by winning all 28 lifecycle cost scenarios and posting the lowest depreciation and maintenance costs in its segment. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter took home wins in the full-size 3/4-ton passenger and cargo van segments and the full-size one-ton space, while the Ram ProMaster came out on top in the full-size half-ton cargo van space.
The Ford Transit wasn’t alone in bringing home a 2025 Vincentric Best Fleet Value in America Award, as it was joined by the Ford Maverick XL, which topped the small truck category for the fourth straight year, as well as the F-250, which ranked first in the 3/4 ton pickup segment for the fifth straight year, plus the F-350, a model that finished atop the full-size one-ton pickup segment.
Each year, Vincentric comes up with this list after performing a cost of ownership analysis based on how commercial fleets typically use their vehicles, using eight cost factors – depreciation, fees & taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. For 2025, Vincentric performed that same analysis for more than 3,000 different vehicle configurations based on typical fleet use, and winners were identified by determining which vehicles had the lowest fleet lifecycle cost in the most scenarios within its segment.
