Official Ford Edge Site Turned Into Farewell Page

Production of the Ford Edge ended at the Oakville Assembly plant in Canada almost exactly one year ago, after more than two million units of that crossover were built between 2007 and 2024. The Edge name lives on in China as the Edge L, but otherwise, the crossover that many came to know and love has been discontinued in North America. Now, the official Ford Edge site has been turned into a farewell page, sending that model off into the proverbial sunset with a bit of class.

That site can be found here, and instead of containing product information as it used to, the Ford Edge page now bodes farewell to that long-running model. “Farewell, Edge,” the page reads. “Ford Edge SUV production has ended. But there’s a wide variety of vehicles at your local Ford Dealer. Plus, you can easily search for Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Edge models near you. Though we’re discontinuing the Edge in 2025, we’re still here to keep your vehicle maintenance up-to-date and answer any questions or concerns.”

We saw The Blue Oval do precisely the same thing for the Ford Transit Connect when it was discontinued recently as well, after which its official site was turned into a tribute of sorts back in April 2024. Production of that model at the Valencia Assembly plant in Spain ended in late December 2023, but it lives on in Europe, where the all-new Ford Transit Connect debuted for the 2022 model year and is available in a variety of configurations and with several powertrain options.

As Ford Authority recently reported, new Ford Edge inventory in the U.S. has largely dried up, as gross dealer stock was essentially non-existent at the end of April, or at least, low enough that the automaker didn’t bother to list a specific number. There are still some new Edges listed for sale at various dealers across the country, but those in the market for one will likely need to do a bit of searching (or traveling) at this point.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Another major mistake, discontinuing the Edge will go next to the Fusion on Fords shelf of models that should have never died.

  4. I am Glad the we ordered and took delivery of a 2024 Ford Edge ST while we still could do that last year. My wife loves it and she was familiar with the Ford Edge, having owned a Edge Titanium.
It is the right size for us as we don’t need the larger Explorer and wanted something bigger than a Escape.
The Edge ST also has plenty of power with the 330 HP turbo. That is more than her ’06 Mustang GT. At stop lights, she can leave the Camaro if they think they have a fast car, and still get good mileage.

  5. This is the stupidest mistake Ford ever made! I bought an Edge Sport in 2016 and an Edge ST in 2021. These cars have been fantastic. Therefore, I consider phasing out the Edge line is a very stupid mistake by Ford.

  6. I’m on my second Edge. Planned to get another in a couple years, but not now. Escape too small, Explorer too big…the Edge was perfect for me. Thanks Ford..you just lost a customer by forcing me to change brands.
