The Ford Bronco has long been one of The Blue Oval’s most popular models with one of its largest fanbases, dating all the way back to the first-generation SUV that debuted in the ’60s. In fact, it was that rabid popularity that prompted the automaker to bring the Ford Bronco back for a sixth-generation in 2021 following a quarter-century absence from the market, too. As such, those that enjoy collecting die-cast models have their fair share of tiny Broncos to choose from already, and that list only continues to expand – this time, to include a new, first-generation Ford Bronco die-cast model that features some interesting mods.
This new first-generation Ford Bronco die-cast comes to us from Greenlight Collectibles, which is previewing the future model, but didn’t provide any additional details about it yet. What we can see is that it’s a modified version of the early Bronco, complete with a lift kit, aftermarket wheels, and larger BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, coupled with a fastback-style removable top – many of the same mods that we see on first-generation Ford Bronco models that routinely cross the block at Barrett-Jackson auctions and go for big bucks.
Such a diecast makes perfect sense as the latest addition to Greenlight’s ever-expanding catalog, which recently added a pair of premium Ford Bronco Forest Ranger diecasts for fans to purchase, too. Given how popular these restomodded Broncos are at Barrett-Jackson auctions – and how much they typically sell for – it’s a nice alternative for folks that love that sort of treatment, yet don’t exactly have six figures or more to spend on the real thing, either. In fact, first-generation Bronco values have gone through the proverbial roof over the past few years – increasing a whopping 472 percent between 2006-2021, with no end to that rise seemingly in sight.
