These days, when we come across old, iconic, and rare racers, they’ve typically been restored or at least refreshed in some fashion. This makes sense given the fact that most of those cars were driven hard on the track and left to rot, as they existed in a time when most weren’t exactly considering the fact that they might one day become valuable collectibles. Thus, this incredibly rare 1967 Ford Fairlane Club Coupe R-Code is a truly special find, given the fact that it has a mere 4,600 miles on the clock – and now, it’s up for auction, looking for a new home.

This 1967 Ford Fairlane Club Coupe is up for grabs over at Bring a Trailer as one of just 35 ordered in that model year with the R-code 427 cubic-inch V8 equipped with two four-barrel carburetors mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and it’s also one of just two that left the factory finished in Springtime Yellow paint. The Fairlane was purchased new by Harold Keck, a factory Shelby driver, and proceeded to live with just one other owner between 1969 and 2022. Between 2022-2024, the car was treated to a total mechanical refurbishment.

As for how this Ford Fairlane Club Coupe managed to only accumulate 4,600 miles over the past several decades, the seller believes that it was parked at some point in the 1970s, and didn’t see the light of day again until they purchased it roughly three years ago. As such, it’s an amazing example of a very rare machine, and one that’s in stellar condition to this day. The interior even looks quite fresh, sporting clean Parchment upholstery, while the famous R-code powerplant has also received a rebuild.

It certainly isn’t every day that we come across something quite as special as this Ford Fairlane Club Coupe, as the closest thing we tend to see hit the auction block on a regular basis is the slightly-older Thunderbolt. In that realm, we’ve spotted a few nice examples at auction recently that sold for huge money, and even non-original tribute cars tend to conjure up lots of interest, too.
