Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Ford F-150 models over a problem with the lower intermediate shaft fasteners.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the lower intermediate shaft fasteners may be improperly attached to the steering gear, allowing the shaft to come loose or detach.
The hazards: a lower intermediate shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Affected vehicles: select 2025 Ford F-150 models produced between February 23rd, 2025, and March 7th, 2025.
Number of vehicles affected: 9,181
The fix: dealers will inspect and replace the lower intermediate shaft fasteners as necessary, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin May 26th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S46.
