Select 2025 Ford F-150 Pickups Recalled Over Loose Fasteners

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Ford F-150 models over a problem with the lower intermediate shaft fasteners.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the lower intermediate shaft fasteners may be improperly attached to the steering gear, allowing the shaft to come loose or detach.

The hazards: a lower intermediate shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: lower intermediate shaft fasteners

Affected vehicles: select 2025 Ford F-150 models produced between February 23rd, 2025, and March 7th, 2025.

Number of vehicles affected: 9,181

The fix: dealers will inspect and replace the lower intermediate shaft fasteners as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin May 26th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S46.

  1. The sheer number of Ford (and GM) recalls does NOT reflect well on American vehicle assembly. And Trump wants more of this?
