Shmee150 Takes His Ford GT To The Nürburgring: Video

Shmee150, also known by his real name, Tim Burton, hit up the Nürburgring not too long ago. While Burton has a fleet of legitimate supercars at his disposal, he first hit the track with his obnoxious pink Ford Transit Custom van, tearing it up to the best of his daily hauler’s ability around the ‘Ring. That wasn’t the only vehicle he took for a spin, though, bringing another one of his daily drivers to the track, although this one is arguably more at home on the challenging course than the Transit Custom: his personal Ford GT.

Video still of Shme150 driving his Ford GT on the Nürburgring, followed closely by his own bright pink Ford Transit Custom.

Burton takes the driver’s seat for the trip around the Nürburgring in his Ford GT. Unsurprisingly, the GT settles right in and starts eating up the ‘Ring, although they take it easy for the first lap or so to let the vehicle warm up. They must be a funny sight out there on track, because they’re being chased by the bright pink Transit Custom, undoubtedly making other attendees smile as they flash past.

Burton continues to take the ‘Ring’s corners, teasing the Ford Transit Custom by letting them catch up in the corners but opening it back up on the straights. But the Transit Custom doesn’t let them gap the van too much, and jumps at the chance to overtake them when Burton gives them an opening.

Once the Transit Custom retires for the day, the driving gloves go on, and Burton really unleashes his Ford GT. Burton lets the GT sing and comments on a rather hard bump that sounds like it dealt damage to something underneath, saying that it’s a “souvenir” from the Nürburgring.

With tires squealing (and some kind of warning flashing, but Burton doesn’t seem too worried about it), they complete lap after lap. Burton says that it feels “so much more dramatic” than his last turn around the ‘Ring in the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, although that’s likely due to the fact that he’s driving much faster than he was before. In fact, he seems determined to scare his buddy in the passenger’s seat.

“On the edge, but still for the driver, I still have complete control,” Burton says. “It makes you seem like a better driver than you are.”

  1. Shmee is fun to watch. Another great watch are the videos by Misha Charoudin, a friend of Shmee. Misha drives a huge variety of owner’s cars at the ring. He does between 500 & 1,000 laps of the ring per year in hundreds of different cars all near the limits.
