These days, off-road-focused performance trucks are all the rage, but the Ford F-150 SVT Lightning remains a popular entity not only among folks that appreciate a good old fashioned street performance truck, but also, collectors. In that vein, we’ve seen quite a few nice Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups hit the auction block over the years, typically garnering solid money. Now, we have yet another stellar example to bid on – this nice, low-mile 2001 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, which just went up for grabs at auction.
This 2001 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 20k miles on the clock, and it’s one of 6,381 produced in this particular model year. This particular example is finished in Oxford White and looks to be in like-new condition, as the auction listing doesn’t note any exterior flaws of any kind. It’s just a clean, stock example of the performance pickup, which isn’t terribly common given how popular they were to modify both back then and even today.
Inside the cabin, one will find more of the same with a clean interior sporting a Medium Graphite cloth bench seat with Ebony leather mixed in, along with amenities such as air conditioning, cruise control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a cassette stereo, and an overhead console. Power comes from the supercharged Ford 5.4L V8, which in this case has been treated to an open-element air intake and an aftermarket exhaust system, flowing to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
In recent months, we’ve seen a handful of nice second-generation Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickups cross the auction block, too. That list includes a 2000 model with 61k miles on the clock, as well as a 1999 pickup with 5k miles – meaning that anyone in the market for this modern era street performance pickup still has quite a few to choose from.
