2015 Ford Mustang GT 50th Anniversary Heading To Auction

Fans of the modern Ford Mustang have plenty to choose from in terms of unique variants on a daily basis, including the 50th Anniversary model that was sold for the 2015 model year as a way to pay tribute to that special occasion. That particular model was limited to just 1,964 examples – a nod to the year that the Mustang debuted at the New York International Auto Show – making it an instant collectible of sorts. Now, a very nice, one-owner example of the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 50th Anniversary is heading to auction, too.

This anniversary edition 2015 Ford Mustang GT will cross the block at Mecum’s Florida Summer Special auction next month, and it’s number 1,372 of the 1,964 examples produced in total. However, it’s far from stock, as it has been treated to a whopping $55,000 in modifications, all of which were completed by Burnyzz Speed Shop in Ocala, Florida. On the outside, one will undoubtedly notice the GT350-style rear wing, for starters, joined by features such as tri-pane rear quarter windows and a faux gas cap.

Inside the cabin, one will find a four-point roll cage, a rear seat delete, and RaceQuip 5-point harnesses, which signal the presence of some performance modifications. There are plenty of those, with the pony car’s 5.0L V8 Coyote engine receiving forged billet internals, a State 2 Whipple supercharger, Kooks headers, a Magnaflow catback exhaust system, and a Fore Innovations fuel system, all of which helped it churn out 892 horsepower at the wheels.

The V8 is mated to an automatic transmission fitted with a Circle D converter, joined by Ford Racing rear half shafts, a one-piece driveshaft, a BMR cradle lockout kit, and an Eibach suspension. The limited edition Ford Mustang GT also comes with all of its original documentation, two keys, and the window sticker. If nothing else, we don’t see these anniversary Mustangs pop up for sale too terribly often, as it’s been roughly a year since the last one came alone.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
