The Ford C-Max was discontinued years ago, but the small and thrifty machine continues to present used vehicle shoppers with tremendous value. The C-Max also continues to garner plenty of praise for a variety of reasons. In fact, Consumer Reports has blessed the Ford C-Max with all sorts of accolades in recent years, largely due to not only its reasonable pricing, but also, its excellent fuel economy, modern amenities, and solid reliability. Now, that list has grown yet again. as CR just named the 2017 Ford C-Max, specifically, as one of the best used cars one can buy right now for under $15,000, too.
The 2017 Ford C-Max made CR‘s latest list of the best used cars available for less than $15k for a number of good reasons, too. Like the rest that made the cut, it has standard electronic stability control, a bevy of safety features, performed well in the organization’s road testing, and has posted better than average reliability over the years. With an average price of $7,600-$10,650, the 2017 C-Max also has a lot to offer in terms of what one gets for their hard-earned money, which is particularly important in today’s inflated world.
CR praised the 2017 Ford C-Max for many specific reasons, including the fact that it’s an “all-around appealing package” with loads of cargo space in spite of its small size, as well as excellent fuel economy. It’s quiet inside the cabin and fun to drive as well, with an unobtrusive hybrid system and a cushy ride in spite of its sharp handling. Along with earning a Green Choice award, the C-Max also carries CR‘s recommended status, and has posted above average owner satisfaction and reliability scores.
This is far from the first time Consumer Reports has lavished praise upon the Ford C-Max, however. The small hatchback was previously named as one of the best used vehicles shoppers can buy, a great choice for teens, and one of the top used cars one can buy for less than $10,000 and $15,000, depending on the model year.

I almost bought a used one years ago, but I saw the exact same car appearing on used lots a couple times over a year, with low mileage. Must have been a lemon.
I bought a new C-Max 12.5 years ago after seeing silly family stick figure commercials. Approaching 200k miles it’s the most reliable car I have ever owned. If you didn’t buy brand new you missed a great car.
Agreed. I’m approaching nine years and 160,000 miles. They introduced a good car, barely supported it with a lame advertising campaign, then abandoned it completely when the 47 mpg figures proved false. A classic “launch and forget” plan by Ford.
