Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2020-2025 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator models over an issue with the easy entry seats.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the switch for the easy-entry second-row outer seats may bind or stick, resulting in the seats unlatching, folding, or sliding unexpectedly while driving.

The hazards: a seat that moves unexpectedly may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Components: easy entry seats

Affected vehicles: select 2020-2025 Ford Explorer models built at the Chicago Assembly Plant between October 20th, 2018, and November 4th, 2024, as well as Aviator crossovers produced between October 19th, 2018, and November 4th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 304,662

The fix: dealers will inspect the second-row seat switch, and replace the bezel around the switch as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on June 23rd, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S67.

  • It's only June 19, 2025, the number of Ford recalls had reached a staggering 76 involving over 2 million vehicles. The fact is that Failure Farley still has a job is beyond me.
