2024-2025 Ford F-150 Lightning Recalled Detached Control Arm

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024-2025 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups over an issue with detaching control arms.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly.

The hazards: a detached control arm can cause a loss of vehicle steering and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: upper control arm ball joint nut

Affected vehicles: select 2024-2025 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups built between February 15th, 2024, and April 14th, 2025.

Number of vehicles affected: 29,501

The fix: dealers will inspect the upper control arm ball joint nut, and replace the nut and/or knuckle assembly, as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin June 9th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S76.

  2. Yes it’s sad to see ol Jim running Ford into the ground for his own failed experiments.
    Running behind FCA is a sad indictment. Hopefully the board will see through the BS and sack him. What ever happened to quality job 1?
