2024 Lincoln Nautilus Recalled Over Infotainment Display Failures

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024 Lincoln Nautilus crossovers over an issue with the infotainment display.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the multimedia module software may cause the panoramic and center displays to reboot, resulting in a blank screen. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 111, “Rear Visibility,” and 102, “Transmission shift lever sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect,” as well as FMVSS numbers 126, 108, 135, 138, 208, 101, and 305.

The hazards: a blank instrument display can result in a loss of critical safety information, such as the speedometer and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, a missing rearview camera display image can reduce visibility of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: multimedia module system software

Affected vehicles: select 2024 Lincoln Nautilus models built at the Changan Ford Hangzhou Assembly Plant between April 4th, 2023, and July 8th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 30,679

The fix: the multimedia module system software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on June 16th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25C21.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Another deliberate Chinese software glitch. Perhaps a “dry-run” for eventually remotely taking control of Chinese built, Blue Cruise equipped Ford products?
