2025 Ford Explorer Adds New Space White Paint: Photos

The refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer gains two new exterior colors, including Vapor Blue Metallic and Space White Metallic. Here’s what you need to know about Space White Metallic.

Space White Metallic, which can be identified by paint code A3, is a no-cost hue offered on select 2025 Ford Explorer trims. Specifically, it can be added to the Explorer Active and Platinum trims, but is not offered on ST-Line or ST models. As such, it is only available in conjunction with certain interior colorways, including Dark Space Gray, Dark Space Gray/Space Gray, Mojave Dusk, and Salt Crystal Gray/Mojave Dusk.

The addition of Space White brings the total exterior color count to eight offered on the 2025 Ford Explorer. They are as follows (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Star White Metallic Tri-Coat (AZ)
  • Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (D4)
  • Iconic Silver Metallic (JS)
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7)
  • Agate Black Metallic (UM)
  • Oxford White (fleet only) (YZ)
  • Vapor Blue Metallic (K1) (new for 2025)
  • Space White Metallic (A3) (new for 2025)

Meanwhile, the following list represents all available interior colorways:

  • Dark Space Gray
  • Dark Space Gray/Space Gray
  • Onyx
  • Mojave Dusk
  • Salt Crystal Gray/Mojave Dusk

Finally, the following list represents all 2025 Explorer trim levels:

  • Active
  • ST-Line
  • ST
  • Platinum

The 2025 Explorer ditched two colors that were previously available on the 2024 Ford Explorer: Forged Green Metallic (L9) and Stone Blue Metallic (C8). The former was first introduced for the 2021 model year before its discontinuation, while the latter had been around since the 2022 model year.

The 2025 Ford Explorer boasts quite a few revisions as part of its mid-cycle update. As far as its exterior, it receives a revamped front fascia front fascia, along with its headlight and rear fascia. Inside, it gains more front-row row legroom, along with new features such as like new soft touch surfaces, Ford Digital Experience software, and a standard 13.2-inch infotainment screen.

Production of the 2025 Explorer continues at the Chicago Assembly plant, where operations have been in full swing since May 2024. Pricing starts at $40,050 for the new base Active trim, and it’s worth noting that certain trims are actually more affordable than the outgoing 2024 model year.

  1. So it comes in 2 colors, and six non-colors. Ugh.
