Here in the U.S., the Ford Lobo brand is something rather new, having graced the flanks of street performance-focused versions of the Ford Maverick, and more recently, the Ford F-150. However, in Mexico, the Ford Lobo is something different altogether – the regular old, run of the mill F-150, which has long been referred to as the Lobo (or “wolf” in Spanish slang) in that country after The Blue Oval decided to name it that to appeal to younger customers. Like the F-150 in the U.S., the 2024 Ford Lobo was treated to a mid-cycle refresh, and now, the 2025 lineup has added back a familiar trim as well.
For the 2024 model year, the Lobo was only available in three trims – Lariat, Platinum, and Platinum Plus HEV – but now, the King Ranch has been added to that lineup for the 2024 model year. It stands out from the pack thanks to a Basalt Gray lower finish, chrome trim, unique 20-inch wheels, and bronze inserts for the front grille. Power comes exclusively from the the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost – churning out 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque – which is the only powertrain offered in the Mexican Lobo aside from the 3.5L V6 PowerBoost hybrid present in the Platinum Plus HEV.
As is the case with the U.S. F-150 King Ranch, the Lobo version features a unique leather interior complete with tons of luxuries such as heated and ventilated seats, massage functionality, the Interior Work Surface, a panoramic roof, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. Customers can choose from a few exterior color options – Metallic Red, Metallic Blue, Cherry Red, Carbon Gray, and Obsidian Black – with pricing starting out at $1,499,000 MXN ($78,638 USD).
“We are extremely proud to bring back Ford Lobo King Ranch on our 100th anniversary in Mexico,” said Laura Valdés, Director of Marketing and Sales at Ford Mexico. “This vehicle is an icon, a pick-up that represents the strength, capacity and exclusivity that our customers value. With his return, we reaffirm our commitment to offer products designed for those who drive the power to make Mexico great.”
