Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E models over an issue with the park rod.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the park rod may fail to engage when the vehicle is placed in the park (P) position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, “Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention.”
The hazards: a park rod that fails to engage can result in a vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.
Components: transmission park rod assembly
Affected vehicles: select 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E crossovers produced between March 29th, 2025 and April 23rd, 2025.
Number of affected vehicles: 276
The fix: dealers will replace the transmission park rod assembly, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on September 22nd, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25C25.
