The Lincoln Nautilus has proved itself to be a very safe vehicle, inspiring confidence among its buyers that it will hold up well in the event of a crash. The 2023 Nautilus was awarded a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) – a legacy carried forth by the redesigned 2024 Nautilus, which swept the overall honors in 2025, too. The 2025 Lincoln Nautilus is just as solid as its predecessor, earning a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The NHTSA gave the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus near-perfect scores in every area examined. The luxury crossover received five stars in its frontal barrier tests, which study how well a vehicle holds up in a head-on collision at 35 mph. Its safety technologies achieved high marks, too, as it was recognized for the performance of its forward collision warning sensors, lane departure warning, crash imminent braking, and dynamic brake support.
The 2025 Lincoln Nautilus also received a five-star rating for its performance in side impacts, holding up well in a variety of tests designed to stress the luxury crossover to the limit. It kept its crash dummy passengers safe and collected flawless scores in every category, including side barrier and side pole integrity tests.
In fact, the only area where the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus stumbled was in rollover tests, but it still raked in four stars. The rollover resistance test examines the risk of a rollover in a single vehicle “loss-of-control” scenario. While the Nautilus is not as large as, say, the full-size Lincoln Navigator, its relatively high clearance does make it a bit of a rollover risk at 16.90 percent. Even so, that four-star rollover rating wasn’t enough to drop the overall five-star score that the Nautilus earned.
Not only is the 2025 Lincoln Nautilus an all-around safe vehicle, it beat out some of its key rivals in a recent comparison, meaning it’s more attractive overall than the 2025 Acura MDX, Genesis GV80, and Lexus RX.

After I finally got my Nautilus out of the clutches of the Dealer and the guy who kept having to come to start it, I am enjoying mine quite well. And I don’t feel it is small at all. In fact it is my equalizer whether I am in the middle of traffic or out on the highway. In other words, keep up or go home. 🙂
