First 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Deliveries Have Begun: Exclusive

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD bridges the gap between purpose-built race car and street-legal pony, and it’s the best of both worlds. As Ford Authority previously reported, production of the muscular machine officially kicked off back in late March, putting it right on target for delivery in Q2. That promise was fulfilled, meaning the Mustang GTD is headed to its (rather affluent) buyers right now.

According to sources familiar with the matter and confirmed by Brandon Turkus, enthusiast vehicles communication manager at Ford, deliveries of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD have begun, throwing the checkered flag on the long, arduous purchasing process. Mustang GTD buyers had to jump through all sorts of hoops to acquire the blisteringly fast muscle car, starting with an application to be approved by the automaker in the first place. Once approved, they had to place a hefty deposit to secure their spot on the order books.

Part of the deal is maintaining ownership of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD for at least two years. The Blue Oval doesn’t want its buyers turning around and selling the vehicle for a massive profit right out of the gate. It’s not a surprise, considering a similar system was in place for the Ford GT.

Pricing for the 2025 Mustang GTD starts at around the $325,000 mark, but depending on which variant and options are selected, it can run well into the $400,000 range. Some might consider that a small price to pay for a (technically) street-legal vehicle that can lap Nürburgring in under seven minutes. With a supercharged 5.2L V8 and 815 horsepower on tap, it’s no surprise that the Mustang GTD appeals to the performance crowd, and is headed for new owners such as big name YouTubers and Hennessey Performance founder and CEO John Hennessey.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is being built in very small batches. Multimatic built just two in January, ramping up to three units in March and one in April. There are three variants offered up, including the “base” (if you can call it that) version, the Mustang GTD Carbon Series, and the GTD Spirit of America.
