Ford Edge Violently Flips After Plowing Into Chevy Pickup: Video

Lane keep assist has become a common feature in many modern vehicles, helping prevent drivers from unintentionally drifting out of their lanes, but it can only do so much. Unfortunately, a Ford Edge driver learned that the hard way when they veered left, collided with a Chevy pickup, and triggered a violent side-over-side crash, sweeping a Ford Super Duty into the mix.

The owner of the involved Ford Super Duty posted the dashcam footage of the Hollywood-worthy wreck to the r/FordTrucks community on Reddit. It was recorded in Atlanta, Georgia. Their title simply states “movie worthy crash,” which is concise, but accurate for the events that unfold in the video. It’s not clear what’s going on with the Ford Edge, but they almost sideswipe a semi truck, indicating either a medical injury or distracted driving.

The Ford Edge drifts off to the right again, striking a white Chevy pickup, and it’s all over from there. It’s likely that the Edge’s right front wheel struck the Chevy’s left rear, launching the crossover into the air right in front of the Ford Super Duty. The Edge barrel-rolls, and there’s nowhere for the Super Duty to go. They plow into the Ford Edge as it goes over, shattering the rear window and turning it over again.

The Ford Edge rolls twice before coming to a rest on its roof, debris flying every which way. The Super Duty driver reins his truck in and verbally checks on his passengers, clearly shaken by the dramatic wreck. In the comments, the original poster says that there were no injuries to anyone in their pickup. While there’s no mention of the Ford Edge driver’s condition, though.

The Ford Super Duty didn’t get off lightly, unfortunately. There’s a gash in the door and the right front fender and hood sustained serious damage – but at least they have the dashcam footage to prove that there was literally nowhere for them to go.

At least things went better for the Super Duty than this Ford F-150, which managed to flip after striking an innocent motorist. And the Ford Edge driver is in good company alongside this Ford Bronco Sport, which completely ignored its sideview mirrors and almost caused a crash.
