Ford Explorer Driver Makes Illegal Pass, Ignores Red Light: Video

There are some drivers out there who just can’t seem to follow the rules of the road. Drivers who will do dang near anything just to shave a few seconds off their commute. The impatient person behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer decided to treat the highway like their own personal runway, swerving around the recording car and proceeding to blow through a stoplight.

Video still of the Ford Explorer in the intersection before it runs through the red light.

The cammer caught the Ford Explorer driver from both sides of their vehicle, showcasing the crossover’s crimes on the r/IdiotsInCars community on Reddit. The Explorer wanders a little too close to the rear bumper of the cam car and hangs out there for a few seconds before they apparently became fed up with legal speeds and pulled into a turn lane as soon as they had a chance.

But they didn’t use that turn lane to, well, turn – they used it as a secret passing lane, passing the cammer and a semi-truck on the left before cutting back into the lane as they approach an intersection. The Ford Explorer doesn’t stop there, though, like they should have. The light is red, after all. The Explorer either doesn’t notice, or doesn’t care, because the driver blows right through the red light. At least they slowed down enough to check for cross traffic before breaking the law, but they broke the law nonetheless.

One commenter suggests that the Ford Explorer driver was so embarrassed by their actions that they ran the red light to put as much distance between themselves and the cammer as possible. Out of sight, out of mind.

At this point, with all these dashcam videos surfacing of idiot drivers out on the road, it’s safe to assume every driver thinks they’re more important than everyone else. The driver of a Ford Super Duty cut in front of a school bus just to get into their driveway, while a Ford F-150 sliced in front of other vehicles in traffic – although they did so while proudly proclaiming what company the pickup belongs to.
