Lines on the road exist for a reason. A dashed line separates lanes, and a solid white line is, effectively, a barrier between two lanes. Those rules were apparently lost on the driver of one Ford Focus, who blew through a solid white in a turn lane and just about took out the cammer.
The Reddit community r/IdiotsInCars hosts some of the best dashcam footage on the internet. The original poster recorded the video while leaving a shopping area, where they encounter the Ford Focus. At first, the Focus stays, well, in its lane. But unfortunately, that lane becomes a turn lane with a solid white line – something the Focus driver either doesn’t realize, or doesn’t care about.
The Ford Focus is supposed to turn – which the cammer assumes they’re going to – but they just don’t. Without taking a look in their rearview mirror to make sure they’re clear, the Focus drifts out of its lane, causing the cammer to slam on the brakes and lay on the horn (while dressing them down with some colorful language). It’s not clear if they don’t want to take the turn or don’t want to end up behind the white pickup that’s already in the lane, and it almost looks like they’re going to go straight through the intersection and ignore the turn completely.
The Ford Focus completes the turn, perhaps oblivious that they even drifted into the cammer’s lane at all. It’s certainly frustrating when other drivers don’t obey the rules of the road. And look carefully – the white GMC pickup in front of the Ford Focus also makes a mistake, turning into the outermost lane even though they began the turn from the inside.
[OC] Love how he honks back at me. Okay bud, at least I can see solid lines.

The driver of a Ford Maverick did something similar a few months ago, blowing through a double yellow line and driving into oncoming traffic just to avoid waiting at a stoplight.
