Ford Mustang Driver Doesn’t Crash After Car Show: Video

To no fault of its own, the Ford Mustang has picked up a reputation at local car meets. It’s a classic formula: drivers with a bit too much muscle car under them try to show off by spinning the wheels as they leave, manage to lose control, and wildly careen off-course, sometimes into crowds of onlookers. Of course, that’s not always the case – and a Mustang caught on camera exiting a car meet managed to not become a statistic this time.

Video still of the Ford Mustang leaving the car meet. The driver shows off a bit of a drift, but keeps the pony car well under control.

The video surfaced on social media, and shows white S550 Ford Mustang peeling out after leaving a meetup. For once, the driver of this pony car seems to understand what they’re sitting on. They let out the reins as they take a wide left-hand turn, allowing the Mustang to drift sideways, laying down a healthy amount of rubber in its wake.

Shockingly, this Ford Mustang driver doesn’t let their car get away from them. They easily gather the vehicle back up and get it pointed in the right direction, all without breaking a sweat. Though they drift a little bit wide and get into the other lane briefly, it’s a blip on the radar, and in no time, they’re driving off with some quiet appreciation from onlookers.

The video also shows a Dodge Challenger taking the same route as the white Ford Mustang. To the driver’s credit, they also manage to keep their muscle car under control, but only barely. Their attempt at a burnout and drift is a bit messier than the Mustang’s, but, hey, any time one tries to show off and doesn’t end up in the middle of a crowd is a win.

Other Mustang drivers haven’t been so lucky in the past. Another S550 Ford Mustang plowed into a tree after losing traction, while another driver got their Mustang under control just in the nick of time to avoid slamming into some bystanders. Perhaps they should take lessons from a driving school that will teach them how to not wreck their ponies. Cleetus McFarland certainly could have benefitted from some pointers.

  1. This is how car show locations are lost for future events. The property owners don’t want the liability exposure.

  2. Ya know, close to most major metropolitan areas, there are race tracks. If you feel the need to really put your foot in it…go there…not the street and certainly not existing a parking lot.
