Ford has been busy electrifying its European lineup for years now, and currently fields a rather large lineup of such choices. However, with EVs not quite gaining market share at the rapid pace most previously expected them to, The Blue Oval is also working to promote its expansive lineup in various ways, whether that be partnering up with celebrities or influencers, along with traditional methods of advertisement. Now, Ford is teaming up with a famous TV show to show off some of its newer electrified models, too.

That show is Wheeler Dealers France – a French version of the show that began in the UK years ago, and has been on TV since the fall of 2016. Entering its tenth season, Wheeler Dealers France follows along as Gerry Blyenberg – a car trader – and his mechanic, Aurélien Letheux, purchase older cars for the lowest possible price, fix them up as cheaply as possible, and then attempt to flip them for a profit.
This year, Ford is joining that tradition by providing Wheeler Dealers France with two Ford Ranger pickups – a traditional ICE model and a PHEV – that will be driven by Blyenberg and his team. The TV crew will also receive a Ford Transit Custom, Explorer EV, and Puma to serve as transportation, making for an interesting collaboration, indeed.
“This collaboration illustrates a shared vision: bringing automotive passion to life while working towards a more environmentally friendly transition,” said Ford France president Louis-Carl Vignon. “At Ford, we’re convinced that you can combine modernity and nostalgia: drive electric during the week and enjoy a youngtimer at the weekend. “Mechanics are above all a story of encounters, transmission and sharing. With Gerry Blyenberg and his team, we want to spread this energy to all enthusiasts.”

It was just this past March that Ford achieved its goal of filling out its entire electrified European lineup, one that was originally unveiled back in 2022. The Ford Ranger PHEV wasn’t part of that original plan, however, though it did just enter production in South Africa this past March.
