Ford has enjoyed tremendous success at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in recent years, with the Transit SuperVan claiming victory in the Open division (along with a second-place overall finish) in 2023, after which the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck brought home an overall win last year. Interestingly, The Blue Oval opted to create a brand new vehicle to tackle the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb – the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E – and it continued the automaker’s tradition of excellence at the iconic race this time around, too.

In its debut at Pikes Peak, the Ford Super Mustang Mach-E secured an Open class win for the automaker with a time of 3:42.252 – once again with Romain Dumas behind the wheel – which came on a shortened course due to inclement weather conditions. That meant the finish line was moved from the summit of the mountain down to Glen Cove, making for a course that’s just one-third the length of the typical race. The problem this time around stemmed from 80-100 mph winds at the summit, which were blowing dust and rocks all over the road.

Dumas fell a bit short in terms of claiming an overall victory this time around, as he was edged out by Simone Faggioli, who piloted his 2018 Nova Proto NP01 Bardahl up the shortened course at an average speed of 91.162 miles-per-hour, which was just over two mph faster than Duma’s 89.088 mph run. As such, Faggioli claimed the overall win and first place in the Unlimited class as well.

The Ford Super Mustang Mach-E was developed in conjunction with STARD Advanced Research and Development and is powered by three UHP 6-Phase motors that churn out over 1,400 horsepower. The EV also utilizes 50kWh Li-polymer NMC pouch cells, a carbon braking system, and forged magnesium wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires, with the ability to generate 6,900 pounds of downforce at 150 miles per hour.
