Long gone are the days when most new vehicle shoppers wanted boatloads of chrome on their rides, as that has largely been replaced by darkened, monochromatic, or blacked-out trim as of late. Ford has responded by launching a number of packages with that type of look, including the Ford Kuga Black Package for the European market, as well as the Ford Everest Sport Special Edition sold in places like Thailand and the Philippines. Now, the Ford Territory Dark Edition joins that list after it just launched in South Africa, too.
The Ford Territory Dark Edition is based on the range-topping Platinum trim, but adds a satin black grille, along with a high-gloss black treatment on the skid plate, fog lamp accents, and mirror caps, plus 19-inch Ebony Black wheels. The look is topped off by high-gloss black roof rails, a lower guard trim strip, window trim, and Territory badging. That darkened look can be combined with one of four exterior colors – Crystal Pearl White, Lustrous Grey, Panther Black, or Ruby Red.
The darker treatment carries over to the inside, where the Ford Territory Dark Edition features a Charcoal Black headliner and pillars, black leather perforated seats, door trim, and instrument panel inserts with Cyber Orange stitching. There’s also a high-gloss black instrument panel trim piece, to boot. Power comes from the turbocharged 1.8L EcoBoost engine producing 138kW (185 horsepower) and 318Nm (235 pound-feet) of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and pricing starts out at R733,000 ($41,336 USD).
“The Territory Dark Edition is a compelling addition to the family-focused Territory lineup that takes the compact SUV’s modern design and styling up a notch, while offering exceptional value for money,” said Sunil Sewmohan Executive Director, Product Marketing Ford South Africa. “With unique exterior and interior accents matched to a smooth, technology-enhanced driving experience that includes a new 360-degree camera, this limited-run model is an exciting addition to the Territory family.”

Looks like an amazing Edge replacement!!
Don’t worry. If the customers in United States wants a vehicle like this, Ford will certainly not provide it
This is very nice indeed!!
This is a shame. The thing I enjoyed about my multiple visits to Australia and New Zealand was the lack of black wheels. Sadly, it looks like the black wheel aesthetic cancer will now be affecting the lands down under.
