Ford Won’t Revive X-Plan Pricing For Shareholders

As Ford Authority reported back in May 2022, Ford previously announced that shareholders would no longer be eligible to receive X-Plan pricing on new vehicles, which was previously the case for those that held at least 100 shares of Ford stock for six months. At the time, it seemed as if this might be a temporary change made as a result of dwindling inventory stemming from the pandemic, but just a year ago, the automaker said that “currently, there are no plans to reinstate the X-Plan pricing for shareholders,” and that seems to still be the case.

“Currently, there are no plans to reinstate the X-Plan pricing for shareholders,” Ford said at its 2025 Virtual Shareholders Meeting. “However, we are stepping up to help American consumers in these uncertain times. We are currently offering employee pricing for all customers in the U.S. who purchase or lease a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle, and that offer is available through July 4th, 2025. The Ford Power Promise, which includes the free installation of an EV charging station in your home, is extended through June 30th, 2025.”

X-Plan is just one of several special pricing plans that Ford offers, including A-Plan (Ford employees and their immediate family members), Z-Plan (retired Ford employees and surviving spouses), and D-Plan (Ford dealership employees and eligible family members). This is obviously disappointing news for shareholders looking to score some sort of special discount on a new FoMoCo vehicle, but it certainly doesn’t seem like that particular pricing will be offered again anytime soon.

As mentioned here, Ford has extended its Power Promise program on more than one occasion in the U.S. since its debut, and that same program has since expanded into other parts of the world as well. Additionally, the employee discount for everyone incentive was recently extended into July after attracting a record number of customers into showrooms, and providing a big boost in sales, to boot.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
