The Mercury Marauder is a sought after machine on the collector car market these days, which isn’t terribly surprising given the fact that it’s a performance-focused model produced in limited quantities. Regardless, we see quite a few Marauders surface for sale on a regular basis, largely because of this reason, and many of them haven’t traveled too many miles, either. The latest to join that list is this – a one-owner 2003 Mercury Marauder, which just popped up for sale at auction.
This 2003 Mercury Marauder is up for sale over at Bring a Trailer with 47k miles on the clock, and it’s seeking just its second owner since the current one purchased it new more than two decades ago. It’s finished in black exterior paint – which was the case with most of the 11,000 Marauders produced across just two model years – and in this case, the auction listing doesn’t note any flaws there, either. The sedan is also bone stock with the original 18-inch five-spoke forged wheels in place, to boot.
Inside the cabin, one will find Dark Charcoal leather upholstered power-adjustable front bucket seats and a rear bench featuring embossed Marauder logos up front, along with amenities including a Beltronics radar detector, an Audiophile sound system, an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo, cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and automatic climate control. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 302 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55-geared limited-slip differential.
This is one of many nice, lower-mile Mercury Marauder sedans we’ve seen cross the auction block as of late, a list that also includes a pair of nice 2003 models – one, a Canadian market example with 26k kilometers on the clock, as well as another with just 30k miles showing on the odometer.
