We’ve seen our fair share of incidents occur at pretty much any type of location one can imagine over the years, whether that be retail stores, homes, or even automotive plants. In that latter realm, Ford has dealt with not just one, but two bomb threats at its under-construction joint-venture BlueOval SK Battery Park site in Kentucky in recent months, though luckily, they were just hoaxes and no one was hurt. However, that wasn’t the case at the Ford Kentucky Truck plant, where a person was stabbed recently.
According to Wave 3 News, a man named Yosvani Gonzales Diaz was arrested at the Ford Kentucky plant on Friday evening after officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a call. The stabbing reportedly occurred at around 8am, and happened when two independent contractors working at the plant got into a fight, which escalated to the point where one of them apparently stabbed the other.
Luckily, the victim of the stabbing was released in short order after being taken to UofL Hospital, and apparently didn’t suffer any major injuries, though that information hasn’t been disclosed. As for the perpetrator, well, they aren’t so lucky, as they’re now facing charges of assault, along with a bond set at $15,000. LMPD is still investigating the situation, so there aren’t any additional details available at this time, though Ford did provide a statement.
“Safety is Kentucky Truck Plant’s top priority,” a Blue Oval spokesperson said. “We are grateful for the quick response from our medical team and for the collaboration of the Louisville Police Department.”
