Ford launched its digital subscription car service dubbed Ford Go in Brazil back in 2021, which takes place entirely online and allows customers to drive a new vehicle each year, for a fixed monthly cost that is all-inclusive and includes insurance, taxes, maintenance, and other ownership-related expenses. Since then, a number of both retail and fleet customers have taken advantage of that offering, including Murici Logistica – the largest e-commerce logistics operator in Brazil – which acquired 354 Ford Transit vans from Ford Go last July, Now, that fleet continues to grow.
Murici Logistica has ordered an additional 51 Ford Transit vans from Ford Go, which means that it now has around 450 in its fleet. This new batch consists of nothing but chassis models and will be used by larger customers operating in a variety of sectors including e-commerce, beverages, telecommunications, cosmetics, and last-mile delivery services, in the South, Southeast, and Northeast regions of Brazil.
“Because it has a higher cargo compartment, Transit carries more volume and the driver can stand up, improving ergonomics in the handling of orders. It is also more comfortable and easy to maneuver, so our drivers prefer to work with it,” says Rogério de Souza, Murici’s Fleet manager. “Every week we download the report, indicating the points that require preventive maintenance of each vehicle, and the Ford team supports us to expedite the approvals. We schedule the revisions through the application and monitor through the platform how many vehicles are under maintenance and the release deadline. All this increased the availability of vehicles.”
When it first launched in Brazil, Ford Go was available for select versions of the Ford Ranger and Territory, and was quite popular from the get-go. The same can be said of the Ford Transit, which enjoyed a successful launch in the country – quickly becoming the fastest-growing commercial van in Brazil – success that has been replicated by the all-electric E-Transit, too.
