The Mercury Grand Marquis – along with its Panther platform counterparts, the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car – have become quite popular with collectors in recent months, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that full-size, V8-powered, rear-wheel drive American sedans simply don’t exist anymore – at least, on the new vehicle market. Thus, those looking to secure such a thing are turning to the used market, and we’re seeing plenty of nice, low-mile examples pop up for sale as a result – a list that now includes this 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis.
This 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis LS is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 17k miles on the clock, and it lived with just two owners before it was recently acquired by the selling dealer. Thus, it remains in stellar condition with nice Vibrant White paint, though the hood and trunk lid were repainted recently. Otherwise, there are no flaws noted on the exterior of the large sedan, and it has a set of new Goodyear tires wrapped around its factory 16-inch wheels, to boot.
Inside, one will find more of the same via Light Camel leather covered seats that look like they’ve barely been sat in, with power lumbar adjustments present in the front seats. Amenities include a six-disc CD changer, automatic climate control, and cruise control, plus a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was factory rated to send 224 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.
This is one of many nice, low-mile Mercury Grand Marquis models that we’ve seen surface at auction – a list that includes two from the past couple of months alone. Those were a 2009 Grand Marquis LS with 15k miles on the clock, as well as a 2010 LS with 20k miles.
