Driving isn’t easy. When behind the wheel, drivers have to constantly multitask, pulling moves like lane changes at speed and keeping an eye on surrounding traffic to make sure it’s even safe to attempt it. The driver of one Ford Fusion didn’t seem to be capable of doing all of that at once, cutting off not one, but two cars in under a minute in the most asinine way possible.
The original poster took the footage and posted it to the Reddit community r/IdiotsInCars, appropriately. Ironically, the first vehicles that slide into frame are a Ford Police Interceptor Utility and a Dodge interceptor in full white police livery, so it’s probably safe to assume that the driver of the Ford Fusion completely short-circuited when they saw the cops. The next thing the Fusion driver does, as soon as they come into frame, is cut in front of the cammer and almost come to a complete halt.
They’re lucky the cammer was paying attention. Another user in the comments surmises that the Ford Fusion intended to shoot across three lanes of active traffic and cut into the turn lane, but froze up when they saw the cops and decided against it. Whatever the case, they gather themselves and continue straight through the intersection… before pulling the same, slow, idiotic lane change maneuver that they did before. But, hey, at least they use their blinker and manage not to run into anyone.
As the one commenter joked, the Fusion driver seemed to forget how to drive when they saw the cop, likely because they knew their next move was a guaranteed reason to get pulled over. They appear to have gotten away with their idiotic driving habits this time, though – unlike the driver of a Ford F-150, who got pulled over almost instantly after using the shoulder as their personal turn lane and forcibly rejoining traffic right in front of a cop.
