Vehicles have been used to transport drugs from one place to another since the dawn, of, well, drugs, and we see this sort of thing happen at border crossings on a regular basis. Those that move large quantities of illegal drugs across the borders of countries have been forced to get more and more creative over the years due to the fact that law enforcement has gotten better at detecting such things, so they’re stuffing those narcotics in all kids of places – inside of tires, body panels, and pretty much anywhere one can think of. Unfortunately for the driver of this Ford Mustang Mach-E, that wasn’t enough to keep them from getting busted.
This Ford Mustang Mach-E driver was attempting to move a rather large quantity of narcotics around in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada recently, but that attempt was thwarted by the Victoria Police Department, according to Vancouver Island Free Daily. The police department had been investigating the 900 block of Johnson Street for some time due to reported drug activity, to the point where a special strike force was assigned to that particular task.
As a result of that drug trafficking investigation, police identified a female suspect involved in moving those controlled substances around the Capital Regional District, and swooped in to arrest her. Upon searching her black Ford Mustang Mach-E, they found a rather startling discovery – 2.5 kilograms of illegal drugs, consisting of one kilo of cocaine, one kilo of methamphetamine, and half a kilo of fentanyl, along with $7,500 in cash. As for the EV crossover, it was also seized and is now subject to civil forfeiture.
“This seizure sends a clear message that we will continue to target drug trafficking, protect our communities and hold offenders accountable,” said Victoria Police Department Deputy Chief Jamie McRae. “The significant quantity of drugs seized highlights the dangers of this illicit activity and demonstrates our strike force unit’s ongoing commitment to disrupting it.”
