Google’s AI overview often trips over itself and hallucinates, often providing horribly misleading “reports” on vehicles that don’t exist, like the 2026 Ford Focus RS. But sometimes, it manages to spit out something that’s actually accurate, as it seems to have done for search inquiries concerning the 2026 Ford Bronco.
Things start off a bit ambiguous. The AI overview says that the 2026 Ford Bronco is going to be a “special model year,” although, to its credit, the next sentence indicates that the off-road SUV could celebrate its milestone 60th model year with a special edition model. That’s probably not far from the truth. The official Ford Bronco account on social media released a teaser just over a month ago, showing a closeup of a Bronco badge that only says “Bronco Est. 1966.”
That, right there, signals that a special variant is on the way, something that Google AI picked up on and presented as a possibility. What’s more, the overview states that “while no major body style changes are anticipated, there will likely be appearance packages and unique features to commemorate the milestone.”
The overview then goes on to say that expected updates include an “enhanced” infotainment system, which would align the 2026 Ford Bronco with the rest of The Blue Oval’s lineup. It also says that the Bronco Raptor is expected to return, and we’d be surprised if it didn’t, so we’ll give that one to Google AI, too. Curiously, though, it says that there are no major body changes inbound, but in the next bullet, says that Ford may introduce some aerodynamic enhancements to make the upright Bronco friendlier on fuel consumption and reduce wind noise.
Perhaps the only thing that could be considered outright wrong is Google AI’s suggestion that there’s a hybrid powertrain inbound for the 2026 Ford Bronco. The Bronco is expected to be treated to a hybrid option at some point, but at this time, it’s not clear if it will happen for the forthcoming model year. We should find out soon enough, though, as the refreshed Bronco is expected to debut during the 2025 calendar year.
