Supercharged Kenny Brown 1998 Ford Crown Victoria Up For Auction

The Ford Crown Victoria is easily among the top rising stars with collectors these days, and for good reason – automakers simply don’t make anything like it these days. There are plenty of folks out there that covet a full-size, V8-powered, rear-wheel drive American sedan despite this, and that’s precisely why they’re increasingly looking to the used market and scooping up nice, low-mile examples of the Ford Crown Victoria. However, this particular example is a bit more special than the average, run of the mill Crown Vic for several reasons.

This 1998 Ford Crown Victoria currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer was treated to the P2 Panther Package by Kenny Brown, which has been churning out cool, upgraded Blue Oval models for decades to this point. Some of those modifications adorn the black exterior, including a special lighting package, a front push bar, pillar-mounted spotlights, radio antennas, Kenny Brown “Hot Pursuit” branding, and dual exhaust outlets. The sedan rolls on 17″ Motiform wheels wrapped with 255/50 BFGoodrich Comp T/A tires, and the whole thing sits a bit lower thanks to its beefed up suspension, to boot.

Inside the cabin, one will find Light Graphite seats with power-adjustability up front, along with amenities such as cruise control, air conditioning, a Uniden BearTracker police scanner, a Cobra Sound Tracker CB radio, a Motorola CellStar phone, and a Kenny Brown Performance tag with the serial number 98-016CV. Power comes from a replacement Ford 4.6L V8 (since the original blew up during testing conducted by Car & Driver), which in this case is fitted with an Eaton supercharger system, an upgraded intake manifold, a high-flow fuel system, and a revised engine calibration. It’s mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

This very cool and unique Ford Crown Victoria joins a wide variety of examples that we’ve spotted at auction as of late, though it’s obviously a bit more potent than most. That list also includes a 1999 Cobra Vic, as well as a 2009 Police Interceptor that was used to teach officers how to perform PIT maneuvers.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
