The Ford Transit platform is a Ford Motor vehicle architecture designed to underpin cargo vans, as well as commercial vehicles such as ambulances, recreational vehicles or small buses.
This architecture can refer to two individual platforms. The first, the Transit 1-tonne platform, underpins mid-size front-engine, front-wheel-drive passenger and cargo vans. The second is the Transit 2-tonne platform, which underpins full-size rear-wheel-drive passenger vans, cargo vans and commercial vehicles.
