The 2020 Ford Super Duty is a full-size three-quarter and one-ton heavy duty pickup truck that sits over the Ford F-150 within the Ford truck lineup. Available in a variety of trim levels, cabin sizes and bed configurations, the Ford Super Duty, which consists of the Ford F-250, Ford F-350 and F-450, is the largest, most capable and most expensive of the available consumer-oriented Ford trucks.
Just like the F-150, the current-generation Ford Super Duty utilizes aluminum in its construction in the interest of fuel economy and efficiency. The Ford Super Duty Tremor is the model’s off-road dedicated variant. New for the 2020 model-year, it aims at rivaling trucks like the Ram Power Wagon and the GMC Sierra HD AT4.
Changes, Updates, New Features
The Ford Super Duty received an important model update for the 2020 model year with the addition of a new ten-speed automatic transmission, 7.3 gasoline V8 called the Godzilla, and the all-new off-road specific Tremor variant. Since the Ford F-150 will see a full model overhaul for the 2021 model year, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an all-new Super Duty follow a few years later.
Exterior
- The Ford Super Duty’s design is based on the traditional pickup truck layout, with a two-door or four-door front-mounted cab and a rear bed that varies in length.
- Prominent front grille with Ford logo surrounded by large LED daylight-running lights.
- Available dual rear-wheel configuration
- All-new Tremor variant adds off-road gear and model specific design cues.
Interior
- The Ford Super Duty’s interior alters from one trim level to the next, but all of them retain a functional and utilitarian design.
- High-end King Ranch and Limited trims get leather appointed surfaces and color-contrasting materials.
- Ford Sync 3 features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as well as integrated Wi-Fi (subscription required).
Body Styles
The Ford Super Duty is a full-size, three quarter or one-ton pickup truck that comes in three body styles; Regular (two doors), SuperCab (2+2 doors) and SuperCrew (4 doors). Overall vehicle length varies depending on which bed is selected. Choices are 6-3/4 and 8 feet. The Ford Super Duty Tremor sets itself apart from the rest of the lineup through unique styling cues and off-road specific accessories.

Beyond 2020
Because the Ford Super Duty received an important model update for the 2020 model year, we do not expect the next-generation truck to arrive until the next two years. In 2021, the Ford F-150 will be entirely overhauled, so we expect the Super Duty to follow shortly after.
