The 2026 Ford Ranger represents the third model year of the midsize pickup’s fifth generation, for which it’s expected to receive a few minor changes.
These changes follow the introduction of the 2024 Ford Ranger, which was completely overhauled (re-engineered and redesigned), along with minor changes to the 2025 Ranger.

Model Line
The 2026 Ford Ranger will continue to be offered in the SuperCrew, Short Bed configuration with rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or four-wheel-drive (4WD) across the following trims:
- XL
- XLT
- Lariat
- Raptor
It’s possible that a Long Bed option will join the lineup for the 2026 model year.
Changes, Updates, New Features
The 2026 Ford Ranger is expected to receive minor changes, including new exterior colors, changes to packages, and possibly the addition of a Long Bed option; such an option was spied testing back in 2022 but was never brought to market.

Powertrain
The 2026 Ford Ranger is offered with a choice of three engines, starting with the 2.3L EcoBoost I4, which is standard on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims. The more potent 2.7L EcoBoost V6, meanwhile, is available as an upgrade for XLT and Lariat trims, and produces 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 is exclusive to and standard on the Ranger Raptor, putting out 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.

Production
The 2026 Ranger is assembled at the Ford Michigan Assembly plant. Production is expected to begin during the second half of 2025.
Seating
The 2026 Ranger continues to be offered in a single 2-3 seating configuration. This setup features two front bucket seats (providing seating for two), along with a bench seat in the second row (seating three).
Beyond 2026
The Ford Ranger is expected to undergo a midcycle refresh in 2027, and the present generation truck likely remaining available beyond 2030.
