Hi I have a classic opel gt that I’m rebuilding and I have decided the 1.5 3 cylinder turbo Ecoboost dragon engine is perfect.
200hp, 214 lbft, engine block the 11×8.5, weight 95kg all is great.
It would be nice to find out the height so I can confirm it’s not too high for the hood.
The only other thing I need to know, what bellhousing will fit that would allow me to use a rwd transmission. Does anyone know if a t5 would work or maybe a 6 speed?
I’ve read there is a racing tune available that would delete most things from the ECU and allow it to be tuned for more power.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get any information from local dealers. I’ve called dealerships in the USA as well but not even emails direct to Ford has helped with finding this ECU tune and what rwd bellhousing will bolt up to this motor.
The 2.0 uses the same transmission and they can bolt to the t5 or a Miata transmission but there are many 2.0 engines. I’d rather not buy the motor and have to transport it to every place that has a transmission to physically see if they have the same pattern.
