I have a 2005 Ford Ranger with a Duratek 2.3 vin D and it runs rich all the time. So while i was diagnosing this ranger i tried to check the timing. I have the proper tools so while checking the valve timing, it appeared to be off. When i put it at top dead center with the pin and set my cams with the flat bar, it would not run at all. So i pulled #1 spark plug and brought it to top dead center that way and the pin does not fit. Seems kinda fishy. Does any one know what block casting number should be on this 05 ranger? I tried to research it but am coming up empty handed. Some one did something weird on this truck.
