I have access to a new 2015 V10 engine and transmission from an E350, One of my 1999-2000 V10s in a commercial vehicle needs replacing. My thought was to strip the 2015 to approximately a long block and install the ECU and accessories from the worn-out engine to go into the commercial vehicle (a custom-built trolley). Is it possible or even wise?

With the transmission, I have a similar question but the I assume the transmission electrics would have to stay with the transmission. I assume the 2015 engine communicates with the transmission differently than the 2000 ECU would. Opinions or experience?
