I ordered my 2022 Explorer ST in February and received it five days ago. Dealer had us sign a letter acknowledging the second row climate control panel would be installed within a one year timeframe, as a “recall” part at no charge.
Installation NotificationI was notified yesterday that the parts are now available and I have set up my service appointment.
Update: I received notification 12/20, that rear climate control panel is ready to be installed. Yay! It will also allow for the rear seat (second row) heat warming feature to be activated.
DON’T GET TO EXCITED ! AFTER WAITING 8 MONTHS THE RECALL SOUNDS GOOD BUT CALLED DEALER ON 12/21/22 TO HAVE THE CONTROL INSTALLED AND WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IN MARCH ANOTHER 3 MONTHS, THEY DON’T HAVE THE PART YET. GUESS WE BE ENJOYING THE HEATED SEATS SOMETIME THIS SUMMER.
Second row climate control panel was installed 1/3/23. It took the dealership one day to get the part. Hope those who have been waiting patiently has the same experience.
I took my Explorer to the dealer yesterday and they called me. Seems there is a model H and a model J for the rear climate control. They have a bunch of model J but the model H they do not have and Ford has put a hold on that model. My vehicle requires the model H…so I guess I will have to continue waiting….
I received my Explorer ST in May of 2022. I am still waiting for my rear seat climate control ! Very frustrating. I have a top end Ford product that never got fully assembled !
