A full-size, performance-focused sedan, the Mercury Marauder debuted to much fanfare, providing enthusiasts with a fun machine to drive that also has room for the whole family. The Marauder was only built in limited quantities over a couple of model years, however, a formula that has since made it quite collectible – and in some cases, valuable. As a result, we certainly see our fair share of nice Mercury Marauder sedans hit the auction block these days, and this 2003 model is the latest of that bunch.

This 2003 Mercury Marauder is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 18k miles on the clock, making it a prime target for collectors or just someone who’s been in the market for such a vehicle. It’s one of 11,000 examples produced across two model years, and like most, is finished in black. That paint remains in great shape, however, as is also the case with the original 18-inch five-spoke wheels, now wrapped with a newer set of 235/50 front and 245/55 rear Westlake Sport tires.

Inside the cabin, one will find tidy Dark Charcoal leather seats with power-adjustable front buckets, plus features such as automatic climate control, cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, along with an aftermarket Kenwood touchscreen stereo, JL Audio amplifier, and trunk-mounted Kenwood subwoofer.

Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, but in this case, it was rebuilt in March 2024 after the car was previously supercharged. That work included resurfacing the cylinder head, boring the cylinders, replacing the valve stem seals, and more, seemingly in an attempt to return it back to stock form, though there are still some aftermarket parts present here and there.

Regardless, this is one of many Mercury Marauder sedans we’ve seen hit the auction block as of late – a list that also includes a 2004 model with just 6k original miles, as well as a supercharged 15k-mile car finished in the rarer Dark Toreador Red Metallic hue.
