Ford Authority always keeps an ear to the ground for unusual and prototype builds from The Blue Oval, and a few weeks ago, something particularly intriguing surfaced: what appeared to be a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport Raptor. Turns out, it’s not real, just the result of the “team” at Ford messing around for some unknown purpose. But even so, we couldn’t help noticing some giveaways to the crossover’s true identity after we got bamboozled – like the fact that it wore Husky fender flares.

The Blue Oval offers the Husky flares as a standalone option on its website for $529. These give the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport a meaner, off-road-ready look, featuring recessed stainless steel bolts and “massive presence,” as Ford itself puts it. The look is completed by a Husky Liners finish, lending it that rough matte appearance. They also give the Sport the ability to accommodate an extra 1 to 1.5-inch additional tire coverage too.

“Massive presence” is certainly the case for this just-for-fun Bronco Sport “Raptor,” and it is a clear indication that this strange build was a pet project, not an official Ford prototype. Nonetheless, the whole ensemble looked convincing, supported by its actual Raptor badges on the doors and rear end. This Bronco Sport was carried by BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires wrapped around black wheels, a bit of a departure from the rest of the Raptor lineup, which utilizes All-Terrain KO2s from the same manufacturer.

The modified 2025 Ford Bronco Sport “Raptor” featured a different exhaust than the rest of the lineup, too. We may never know if this off-road crossover was treated to a power upgrade, but the dual mufflers and larger exhaust tips certainly gave that impression. And whoever put it together seems to have a sense of humor; the finishing touch is a Mothman sticker on the rear glass.

“This is our team having fun, not a Bronco Sport Raptor,” Ford Enthusiast Vehicles Communication Manager Brandon Turkus said in a statement. “Just like our customers, we encourage employees to leverage the customization superpowers of the Bronco family and continue to explore possibilities.”
