Last month, Ford Authority spotted a few Ford F-150 Lightning pickups out testing with minimal camo on the hood and bedsides, along with a blue stripe running through the center portion of the grille. More interestingly, those prototypes were also wearing the same 18-inch wheels available as an option on the F-150’s STX appearance package, and they were wrapped with 275/65R18 Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires – signaling the potential arrival of a new off-road-focused variant. Now, that’s precisely what has happened, via the all-new 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX.
The 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX is a product that customers have been requesting for some time now, according to the automaker – a more rugged version of the EV pickup, though some of them have turned to the aftermarket for such a solution thus far. Soon, those customers will be able to purchase precisely that from the source with the new F-150 Lightning STX, which replaces the XLT in that model’s lineup for the new year.
The 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX gets a few off-road-worthy upgrades, including a standard rear e-locking differential, the same running boards as the F-150 Tremor, and the aforementioned all-terrain tires wrapped in unique wheels. It comes equipped with the extended range battery pack as standard, providing an EPA estimated 290 miles of range. Its dual motors churn out 536 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque, to boot.
In terms of styling, the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX also gets the aforementioned blue accent line in its front grille, which is new, along with STX bedside and hood graphics to help differentiate it from the rest of the lineup. Inside the cabin, the pickup comes equipped with cloth seats sporting Grabber Blue “STX” embroidery, and a standard heated steering wheel, while a black vinyl floor can be had as an option, too.
Along with the addition of the STX, the 2026 F-150 Lightning lineup is getting a few new exterior color options as well – Argon Blue (as pictured here), Marsh Gray (which we spotted on a prototype last month), and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, along with the existing Agate Black Metallic, Antimatter Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Oxford White, and Star White Metallic Tri-Coat.
Deliveries of the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning STX are scheduled to begin in early 2026, and it’ll arrive with an MSRP of $63,345. Ford believes that it will be one of the top-selling series in the lineup moving forward, based on its own projections, and we imagine that folks who’ve waiting for some sort of more off-road-focused Lightning for some time will be happy to see it.

offroad oriented.....got it.
They are finally listening, but still not enough. It can't even get to 300 miles, while GMs EVs are getting almost 400 miles.
Also, is Ford thinking of the future and did they move the charge port to the rear of the truck or even adopt the NACS to better work with the Tesla chargers, so they don't need to have an adaptor?
I doubt they did that, as there is no mention of it and a shame because this would be a huge selling point for the EVs if they have the native NACS charging ports in them.
Again, only minor changes for these vehicles, but yet they continue to try and charge a high price.
