The Haas Factory Team – the NASCAR Ford outfit that rose from the ashes of Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) – will end its relationship with The Blue Oval upon conclusion of the 2025 racing season. Beginning in 2026, the Haas team will field Chevy race cars, turning its back on its Ford alliance after nine seasons with the manufacturer.

Haas currently fields the No. 41 NASCAR Ford Mustang Dark Horse of Cole Custer in the Cup Series, along with two full-time Xfinity Series Mustangs for Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed. However, those race cars will no longer feature Mustang bodywork and Ford tech in 2026. Instead, they’ll be backed by General Motors, representing Chevy in its respective divisions.

“First and foremost, we want to thank Ford for its partnership. Their support allowed us to establish Haas Factory Team and we remain dedicated to delivering results for them in Cup and Xfinity all the way through the season finale in Phoenix,” said Joe Custer, president of Haas Factory Team.

Gene Haas, owner of the Haas Factory Team, has allied with Chevy before. In fact, SHR raced Bow Tie machinery in its first season in 2009 and continued its relationship with GM through the 2016 season before switching to Ford at the start of 2016. Haas’ realignment with Chevy will be facilitated through a technical alliance with Hendrick Motorsports.

“Personally, I have a deep history with Chevrolet and Hendrick Motorsports,” Haas said. “Both helped in establishing not only my presence as a team owner in NASCAR, but also the presence of Haas Automation. Together, we were able to build a race team that competed for wins and championships while growing the use of Haas CNC machinery throughout the racing and manufacturing industries.”

Thus far, the Haas Factory Team in its current iteration has one victory in the Xfinity Series. In the Cup Series, Cole Custer’s No. 41 NASCAR Ford has two top 10s and currently sits 33rd in overall points.

  • Ford really needs to pickup some new teams for next year. It has been rumored that Penske might join Xfinity with Ford.

  • While Ford won the last three point titles.. going to see just races...Ford in regular season is not doing well. worst on the road and roval courses for the last 5 years...they know every year there weakness and nothing improves..leading not many laps..at all the tracks this year...except plate races. it time to get more consistent.,

  • Ford is not doing well in NASCAR and V8 super cars series in Australia. Farley the weekend warrior talks it up but doesn’t deliver.

  • With Haas switching his 2 Xfiniti cars to Chevrolet there will be 30 Chevrolet's, about 5 Toyota's and 3 Ford's starting each race. The remaining 3 Fords are not fast enough to win a race. Toyota might win a few races but with 30 Chevrolets starting they will dominate.

  • Money buys speed. With all the money Hendrick Racing has and spends to buy the best talent and teams , there is not much chance other teams can have much of a chance to win.
