The Ford GT has become a truly sought-after and pricey collectible these days, with certain examples selling for over a million dollars at auction, in fact. However, when it comes to rare and interesting variants, few can compare to the Ford GTX1, created by a company called Genaddi Design Group of Green Bay, Wisconsin, which converted Ford GT models into roadsters with removable tops. Only around 40 Ford GTX1 conversions are believed to exist, and this one has barely any miles on the clock, too.
This 2005 Ford GTX1 is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 166 miles on the odometer, in fact, and it’s one of four such models originally ordered by Hamad Alkaz – all of them finished in Valencia Yellow with Titanium Silver racing stripes. That combination mimicked the original GTX1 SEMA show car, interestingly, and it covers a vehicle that features a revised engine cover, headrest fairings, removed upper door sections, plus a carbon-fiber splitter, side skirts, and diffuser.
Inside, one will find Sparco seats with Genaddi Design logos and yellow embroidery, plus Ford GTX1-logo floor mats line the floors, a short-shift kit, and an Eclipse touchscreen with a backup camera.
Power for this special machine comes from the same supercharged Ford 5.4L V8 as GT models of this generation, but this one has been treated to a Lysholm screw-type supercharger, a dry-sump lubrication system, a Genaddi Design exhaust system, and a water-to-air intercooler, helping it churn out around 700 horsepower. It’s mated to a Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential, sending power to the rear wheels.
It remains to be seen just how much money this Ford GTX1 will rake in at auction, but we saw a black example of that same rare model hit the auction block in late September with 17k miles on the clock. That particular model wound up hammering for $648,000.
Sales increased 18 percent to 38,762 units during the first nine months of 2025.

The Mark VI packed more for a similar price point.
And it's been treated to a full redo.
