It may seem hard to believe now, but there was a time, not too long ago, when the Ford GT wasn't hugely popular or valuable. Rather, one could easily go out and purchase a new or used example of the first-generation Ford GT, specifically, for sticker price or even less. That’s no longer the case, of course, as the market for the first-generation Ford GT is currently on fire, quickly gaining on the second-generation model in terms of values. Thus, this low-mile 2006 Ford GT is sure to garner its fair share of attention when it crosses the auction block soon.
This 2006 Ford GT is scheduled to cross the block at Mecum's upcoming 2026 Kissimmee, Florida auction in January, and it's sure to conjure up a lot of interest for several reasons, aside from the tremendous interest collectors are showing in these cars at the moment. For starters, it has just 732 miles showing on the odometer, which is an incredibly low sum, and as such, it presents like new.
On top of that, this Ford GT is one of just 250 built with Tungsten paint and full gray stripes, and it has all four options one could pick at the time - BBS forged allow wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, the racing stripes, painted brake calipers, and the McIntosh stereo system. Otherwise, all of the goodies one will find on the first-generation Ford GT are present and accounted for as well.
That includes amenities like air conditioning, Sparco leather sport bucket seats with a carbon fiber structure, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, plus HID headlamps and mechanicals including aluminum double wishbone suspension with coilover shocks, and power-assisted rack and pinion steering. Power comes from the supercharged Ford 5.4L V8, cranking out 550 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Ultimately, it's hard to guess what this stellar and rare example of a 2006 Ford GT might hammer for, but we'll certainly be tuning in this January to see just how much someone is willing to pay for it.
Yep, the Excursion is still dead.
One of three that were dropped for the 2026 model year.
A nice example of the more powerful pickup.
